OP series slip clutches are designed for transmissions utilizing precision "O" ring belts and requiring precise overload protection as in tape drives and other similar drives.
OP Series Slip Clutches are designed for long life under continuous slip conditions. The useful life of these elements is a function of the transmitted torque and slip speed. Refer to page A-2 in catalog 18E for the method of estimating life for a particular application. The service life figures are based on continuous duty testing.
* Stock units are calibrated with equal CW and CCW slip torques corresponding to the tabulated Upper Limit Torques. Other torques are readily available from full, down to 1/8 of the Upper Limit Torque for each model. Torque values are independent of each other for CW and CCW rotation, and may be specified the same or different for the two directions.
